Kherson and Kiel, 31. March 2023. Today the heads of Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University and Kiel University signed a formal cooperation agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) between our two universities in an online ceremony. We are very grateful to Prof. Dr. Simone Fulda, President of Kiel University, and Prof. Dr. Yurii Kyrylov, Rector of Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University, to support our project.

“We continue to stand by the Ukrainian people. That is why I am extremely pleased that we can support research and teaching at KSAEU. The universities in Kiel and Kherson also benefit from the professional exchange with each other. I thank you all for your great commitment and look forward to the further, now also institutionally enshrined cooperation,” said Kiel University’s President Prof. Dr. Simone Fulda. “With the help of our partners, we will win the war, rebuild the city of Kherson, and integrate Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University into the European scientific community. We highly appreciate our ongoing cooperation, especially today’s signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which is a significant part of this process”, said Prof. Dr. Yurii Kyrylov, Rector of Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University. “What makes universities unique is the scientific method, is working together across borders in producing knowledge, in producing truth. The brutal war of aggression that Russian waged on Ukraine is not only a physical invasion but also an assault on democracy, humanity and truth. There is no better way of countering this assault than signing a Memorandum of Understanding that fosters scientific cooperation between our two universities,“ said Prof. Dr. Christian Martin, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences of Kiel University.
