Choosing and interpreting statistical methods

In “Let the Data Speak: Dos and Don’ts of Statistical Analysis”, Dr. Titova explained how economic models provide simplified representations of reality and help describe, explain or predict phenomena using available data.

The lecture addressed data requirements in econometric analysis, the selection of statistical tools and the interpretation of results. Examples drawn from economic, social and behavioural data illustrated basic methods, including the interpretation of linear regression estimates and common analytical mistakes.

Questions and academic exchange

Participants had the opportunity to ask questions about data quality, sample requirements, missing values and the assumptions used to build models.

We thank Dr. Titova and colleagues at CAU and KSAEU for organising the lecture and discussion. The wider teaching partnership receives support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through Ukraine Digital, with funding from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
