On 10 December 2024, the final lecture in the event series on Ukraine took place at Kiel University (CAU). Dr. Ulf Kämpfer, Mayor of Kiel, spoke about the city partnership with Kherson, while Prof. Dr. Kai Carstensen, organiser of the series, discussed the cooperation between CAU and Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University (KSAEU).
Support through the city partnership
Dr. Ulf Kämpfer presented examples of Kiel’s assistance to Kherson and discussed cooperation in education and socio-economic development. He emphasised the importance of continuing and expanding the partnership.
He also highlighted the contribution of the cooperation between KSAEU and CAU to the development of the city partnership. KSAEU students had the opportunity to speak with the Mayor and ask questions.
Academic cooperation and exchange
Prof. Dr. Kai Carstensen reviewed the universities’ cooperation and discussed how joint teaching and academic exchange can support international relationships.
