Summer School Participants Explore Kiel Fjord

As part of the ACTI-K² Summer School 2026, supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and jointly organised by Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University (KSAEU) and Kiel University (CAU), participants enjoyed an excursion to the Kiel Fjord and the coastal town of Laboe.

Discovering Kiel Fjord and Laboe

The Kiel Fjord, one of the most distinctive landmarks of the region, is known for its maritime atmosphere, beautiful coastal landscapes and importance as a centre of sailing and maritime activities. The excursion offered participants an opportunity to experience the unique character of northern Germany beyond the academic programme.

Despite strong winds and heavy rain, participants explored the picturesque town of Laboe and enjoyed the opportunity to spend time together outside the classroom. The excursion provided a valuable setting for cultural exchange, new experiences and memorable moments.

Another highlight of the day was a visit to the art exhibition “Blickwechsel” at the Freya-Frahm-Haus in Laboe, which offered participants new perspectives through contemporary art and added a cultural dimension to the excursion.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The visit gave participants the opportunity to discover the cultural and natural heritage of the region while strengthening connections with fellow students. The excursion became a memorable part of the Summer School experience, combining learning, cultural exchange and international friendship.
